We've made the switch from Christmas tree to nativity scene to keep Christ at the center of our Christmas. Feels great and the kids have been great around it so far. Posted by Picasa

Yeah, we decided that this year we would for go gifts for each other so we could get this set. It will be a special thing to set up each year. It was a little hard to give up Christmas trees for me because of good memories as a kid, but this made it all better. As long as there is some special tradition that the kids can be a part of setting up each year, I am happy. And this doesn't have to go to the dump afterwards like a tree. I love the idea of making Christmas more Christ centered for us and the kids. Evertime I look at this it makes me think of Jesus and the precious gift he was and is to us. I pray my kiddos will always know the truth in Christmas. Thanks for the comments ladies!

Char, that is awesome that you guys have chosen to have a nativity set instead of a christmas tree... I don't know if I would be able to give up our christmas tree cause of all the memories growin up with one, but having a nativity set is definately a must :-)

Hey Char, this isn't actually a comment for your blog, but I don't have your email address! So I hope you'll see this in here... I just found this link online, it has some neat Christ-centered ideas for Christmas: http://www.kingofpeace.org/advent/advent.htm
