Water verses Coke

Hey, I have not tried all these so don't take my word for it but it is really interesting... check it out!

Water or Coke?

WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism by 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

COKE

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place card reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years.

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?or Coke?

Basement info

A quick post to all who care, primarily my family and Jenny who has been so wonderful about encouraging me and getting me through tough days since our basement flooded in December. This has been such a long, long process for me and I am so glad to say, it is almost over! The floorers came today, the floor is in! Tomorrow Sani Tech will come and put baseboards on, baseboard heater in, touch up the paint and then... We are DONE!!! Can you believe it! By tomorrow night I will be doing laundry in my basement and my kids can play there and we can put our stuff down there. It will probably take us a good 3 or 4 days to get everything put together and then put down there, but within a week, things should be back to normal! The Lord is so good to us! The basement looks great, too! I will take pics tomorrow as soon as it is done and before we put stuff in there so all can see. I can't wait. That is the low down for today. May God bless you all today.

Update: 3-4 days?!? What was I thnking. I meant maybe a couple weeks max. I am looking around thinking... this is going to be a very long week!!!

Funny Insurace Commercial

I was reflecting on how different our whole flood experience would've been without insurance. It would have been no laughing matter.

BABY SHOWER!!!

Yes it is true, I thought long and hard and then called Gwen. She and I decided on the perfect day and time for a perfect baby shower to be held.

Little Sasha will be blessed in deed on Friday, July 6th at Gwen's beautiful abode so come one come all! There will be games... don't let this deter you, we will make them fun, Food... as long as you bring some, and lots and lots of gifts for the unwrapping. I will make sure there are prizes also and there will definitely be plenty of gals to converse with.

Don't miss it as it could be the party of the year!!! Yippee for babies and sister's in the Lord. Thanks Ladies!

Babies are such a blessing!

Well, for those who don't know, Daphne had a baby girl, Sasha Summer Dana. I am going to try to plan a baby shower for next week so, I will need help. Unless someone else has started planning, then I would love to help! Let me know if anyone has hear anything or if you want to help.

Skate, skate, skate!

Roller skating and having a blast!
Annabelle was getting tired, we took her skates off just after this
Joel mostly walked with his skates but he is not scared, so that is great!
Joshua, a little funny in the eyes there but he skated the whole way and is learning to not step, but roll, getting good at it too!
The love of siblings, my favourite thing ever!

God of Wonders

Romans 1:20-23

I am so thankful to live here, where it is so easy to see the greatness of God, through His creation!

Monopoly fun, had by all!

So, as we are not big on make believe creatures such as the tooth fairy, we absolutely do not want out little monkeys to feel they have been left out somehow or that we were unfair to them because of our hesitation toward having them believe in Santa, Tooth fairy, Easter Bunny, etc.

Loosing your first tooth is an very big deal, I think. It is one of the small passages into man or womanhood. Growing up is so exciting for kids and I always try to build each little thing up so they know that they are "going places" and I am happy about it. Every step is so fun. Here is Joshua receiving his much anticipated, congratulations on loosing his first tooth, gift. You can't even imagine the excitement. It just rocked to see him feeling like such a big boy. And to top it off, the game is for kids 8+ and he played the whole game without a moment of boredom... and WON!!! With no cheating to help him along by Mommy and Daddy. Afterward, he made sure we knew that he is not even 8 and could still play and win! He is so funny
I had the flu all day and was pretty weak so Adam took us out to Subway for dinner. I couldn't enjoy it like I usually would but I managed to get a bit down and keep it in. Then we can home and bathed the kids, gave Joshua this game and then played it for a couple hours. It was great. Adam helped me with everything which was just awesome! Annabelle almost made it through the game and Joel almost made it through the first round. Hahaha. It was great and Joshua woke up with it on his mind. He has been begging me to play it again with him. For those who wonder, it is just like the classic game, same amount of money, same amount of spaces, just the names of everything are from Bikini bottom. Pretty neat.
What fun it is to have kids. A true blessing given by God, on the good and the bad days!

Dreams come true!

For about a year Joshua has been asking often for Sponge bob Monopoly. It is a board game and costs $34.99 at Walmart. We were going to buy it for Christmas for him... all sold out. Then for his birthday... still sold out. So we planned on splurging and getting it this year before Christmas when it would be in and then saving it for the big day. BUT to my wonderful surprise... (only God could bless people like we are blessed) I was in at Walmart tonight with my son buying a bike helmet for him and I passed by this huge display of the game with a big sign saying $9.96!!! I didn't really believe it but on my way back I grabbed 3 of the game and headed for the checkout thinking I would get, "sorry, they must have forgotten to change the signs". But sure enough, they rang in at $9.96, so I have one for Joshua, and 2 for spare gifts for friends! I feel blessed once again! Even with 3 it didn't cost as much as one would normally cost! So, I guess dreams do come true. Joshua has been wanting it for so long and maybe a lost tooth is just the moment that would call for a little congratulations gift!

News of the day!!!

Well, today Moe treated my kids to a little kitchen set. It is great because it fits upstairs and they have not got to play with one in about 6 months because of the flooding. What a great surprise. She had been garage saleing and found it. It is in awesome shape. Anyway, so I told the kiddos to go and clean their rooms and I would take out their play food and stuff for the kitchen. They hopped to it because they were so excited! So I was glad to see that and when they were done I got the play food out. I was chatting with my ma while they were playing and Joshua came down. He looked kind of proud and a little nervous so I asked him what was wrong? And he said nothing and then opened his mouth and this is what I saw...

He was trying to open one of the food things and this tooth couldn't handle it I guess. It has been loose for a long time and had died a bit from being smashed about 8 months ago. So that is the end of that tooth. I am so excited. I feel like he just grew up a bit more and I was so glad it didn't hurt him and he didn't cry. He is very proud and can't wait to show his friends at Sunday School tomorrow. Hope you all are taking in the sun shine and enjoying your day!

Update and catch up!

Howdy all you out there! I am so sorry about the lack of posts but I will catch up someday! I have been so busy and it feels like nothing is actually getting done. But it is. And even now, as I look at the time and it is 2:09am I think, I really don't have time to be sitting here on the computer as I have many kids coming in the morning for me to babysit! So, I am warning you now, I will not be proof reading this when I am done and it is inevitable that there will be spelling errors and bad grammer and such as I always catch that stuff on the second time around.

Update on the basement, Floor will be installed on the 28th of June. I am so excited! And the painting is done. Then just trim and we have a basement. I just finished buying everything else to replace for the basement and I can't believe this thing is actually coming to an end! Thank YOU Lord!!!

Update, on life. The puppy is doing well but still having many accidents in the house. This will be remedied easier when I can sent the kiddos in the back yard with him more often to play. Right now I have to take him out just at that magical time and he will go. Also, the rain is too cold for him and I think we need to get him a sweater for outside. And he is definately afraid of thunder storms!!! Also, Andrew, my bro in law has sent us some stuff since he has moved. He needed to get rid of some things. Incidently we have been blessed and blessed by movies and books and clothes and the greatest of all, his old video camera which he had lost cords for and such, but we had cords to fit! Thank God we can start videoing our kids again.

Update on thoughts. My thoughts revolve around this basement getting done and trying to keep order of my house but in my spare thought moments, I am dreaming about going back to school. I have chosen my career to dream about and I have chosen courses that match up. I want to go in and talk to a councelor but it is great that the courses I want can be taken online and one at a time if a person wants. And I don't think I would need to upgrade! So we will see if this fall I could maybe just start one course. I just want to start to better myself for employment for whenever I feel God calling me back to the work force. Probably not till Joel is in grade 1.

Update on the weekend. Awesome teaching at church which left me with new goals, dreams and passion! I am excited for what God may have for us and I was blessed by the teaching immensly. And Fathers day went well. Church in the morning and Adam walked with Joshua like he often does. So sweet. Then when we got home he got his gifts and we had bacon and egg lunch as Adam loves breakfast at all times of the day. Then a family nap and then went to the church for a city celebration! It was nice! So all in all, I am very thankful for Adam, the man I will always love deeply and a loving and teachable father for my children. God has blessed us so much when he gave us my man!

So, I have to go for the night but will be to update again soon. God Bless you all! Here is one cute pic of Joshua taking care of his little pup.

From Tamara and Jenny

1.ONE OF YOUR SCARS, HOW DID YOU GET IT? I have an odd scar on my knee from a really bad knee skinning as a child, where rocks got in there and we had to pick them all out.

Moles and sinuses

Sinus infection! Thank God for medication! I went to get my stitches out this morning and asked the doctor about the massive pain in my face and jaw. So, the verdict is, a sinus infection and with meds in hand, I am on my way to recovery! Also, on a good note, the moles were benign! I was really glad to hear that. So, I am making lunch for my monkeys and then maybe having a nap. Then, maybe at about 3pm I will be ready to start this day!

I am tired, and sore and just overall really yucky. But, well, that is just life! I have not been sick for quite a while, I guess it was time! Hope all of you are feeling 100% better than me. hehehe. Off to try to tidy a bit before I lay back down and veg. Must get well! Must get well!

Terrace Flood/ Warzone

I was awe-inspired at the sheer immensity of the Skeena River. Not until driving down Graham Ave. and seeing all the volunteers working hard to make a difference did I feel like I was in a warzone. May we all be inspired and help out those in need as best we can.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God" ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Lots of sandbagging happening on Graham Ave. God bless all the volunteers. Volunteers are needed to sandbag and can call 638-4734 to register. They'll be contacted as needed. The regional district emergency centre can be reached 24 hours a day at
615-6100 or 1-800-663-3208.

I actually felt sick to my stomach when seeing the water up to the sewage treatment entrance on Graham Ave. Started to realize how many families were actually being affected in our small town.

Here's my bro, Mark, on Kerr St.

Thornhill Creek Bridge

I kept a close watch on this level today. Took 4 photos at various times and it seemed about the same. Rumors were Skeena was going to cross dike within 2 hours. Thank God they were wrong as we were able to move photos and important things.

Hard times sometimes bring people together. I feel so blessed to have spent time with David, my brother, today. If you read this I love you very much David.

Many lives being affected. Your prayers are greatly appreciated, I'm sure.

Joshua and I behind mom's trailer before Joshua hung out with his nephews for the day.

Took a quick trip out to stop Fisherman's Park. Notice how far up the Kalum River has risen, close to CN bridge.

Mom and Marion(Hope I spelt that right), friend of the family. Hey Jenny, recognize your old place behind them?

My beautiful mother always did show me to stop and smell the flowers.

Spend first part of my day with Annabelle. She really wanted to go when I said Nanny needed our help. God bless her heart.

Blurry shot from the vehicle of Williams Creek. Higher than I've ever seen it.

On the way back we checked on the Lakelse Lake. Notice there's no beach area.

Drove out to the Kitimat after to check out if I was fishing the next day. A resounding no way! It turned out good that I wasn't out fishing though.

Ohh-oohh

Went to drive out to Whitebottom Bridge the other day, June 4th, and saw this: The last bend before the straight stretch which parallels the Skeena was under water. Very awe-inspiring moment.

Hats off to all the valiant efforts to keep river at bay!!

I was very impressed by all the people involved in trying to contain the Skeena. Many people maning pumps, dumping sand to minimize seepage and volunteers doing sandbagging work.

Very eery. You can see the river is higher then the ground to the right of the dike. Please be praying the dike holds the river. Many families are being affected including my sweet mother. God's will be done.

New member

Hey, here is two cute little dogs, playing together in the grass last night at Adam's bro's house. It was Jen's birthday and we were there for it. Then we fell in love with their new dog. Yeah, then we decided to go check out the rest of the litter. And low and behold
Now we own brother and sister. They have the girl and we got the boy.
Annabelle has fallen head over heals for the little critter. He is so cute. The kids named him Chee chee. He is 7 weeks old and is half chiwawa and half Jack Russel Terrier. Don't worry, I am aware that he will be high strung! But who could resist this! Hahaha. He is just the right size for our little home and I am so excited, we are already just starting to train him. But he is a bit of a biter so far. Hopefully we can curve that!
Picked him up some puppy chow and headed home.
This is his new harness and leash but he is a little unimpressed so far. That is the news for the day. Off to church! God bless!
