Daily bible verse

Was looking at this site and just thought that I would share the bible verse of the day. Definately a verse I have tried to live by more and more as the days go on. God bless you all!

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19-21 (Read all of Matthew 6)New International Version

what a Belle!

Annabelle's new thing she loves. I braided her hair one night after her bath and when we took the braids out and saw all the curls she was so excited and wanted to do it every night! Virginia, I thought of you when doing it. I remember you braiding her hair when you were living here. I loved that. And I am not nearly as good at braiding.
Most people know that when Belle was a baby she had the ringletiest hair ever! And I assumed it would stay, but it didn't. But she did keep the wonderful body in her hair that makes it easy to make curls and keep them. So when I braid her hair she is curly all day. That makes her so happy!

And one of my baby with her ringlets. Natural is always the most beautiful but I love to give her the option of a little curl whenever she would like it.

Last day of tots soccer

The group! My nephew Eric didn't make it till a few minutes after the pictures but Joel and Annabelle are in there!

Joel, he doesn't like pictures these days. He often hides his face. But sitting on the ball is one of his favourite things to do!
Annie
My buddy Eric. What a handsome nephew I have!!!
And the three tots together. Couldn't get Joel looking at the camera sadly.

A lovely day with family

A few days ago Adam's Aunt Mary and Uncle Carl and Aunt Suzanne and her fiance (who I sadly forgot his name immediately after hearing it) came to Terrace and spent a night and visited the family. We went to Adam's brother's house as he and his wife were putting on a big barbecue for everyone. It was so wonderful. We were so glad we were able to go and the kids had a blast. Here are just a few pics of the fun.

Stephanie listening intently to her littlest cousin tell her something oh so important! ha ha
Adam and Dakota (snuggling Chee Chee and complaining about how ugly he is)
This looks angry but was not in the slightest. I think they were discussing our new car after taking it for a spin around. Adam and Mark, his big bro. Annabelle, happy after enjoying a fun time in the sprinkler.

Joshua, he has wanted to see his cousins for a long while. He loves going to their place so much!
Some of the gang. From left- Dakota, Annabelle, Joshua, Joel, Jarred, Stephanie and friend, Britney
Aunt Mary and Stephanie. Adam and I got to stay with Mary and Carl for a night about a year ago and it was so fun to get to know them so this was great to see them again. We are hoping to chance taking our car to PG this summer and maybe on the way stop in to see them again.
Aunt Suzanne and her fiance. They seem very happy!

Again, so glad God has given us such wonderful family to enjoy life with.

A very nice treat

Funny, as a child when you are told that your mom has a treat for you it usually means candy. As a grown up treats of candy seem like no big deal but this kind of treat is a very big deal. Adam's mom won some moolah and without a moment of hesitation, told us she was giving us enough to buy our living room window. This was our project for this year and we were expecting to have the money by October to have it installed. I was putting money in our savings account little by little and this huge treat from Mom was such a wonderful surprise! Here is Joshua removing the stick on stars from the old window with the men outside getting ready to remove it. Taking out the junky, old, metal frame window that has been leaking air like crazy and most recently, leaking water also.
The empty space. Adam and I just sat at the table and had coffee while we took in the excitement. We felt so spoiled! What a blessing!
Insulating and getting ready to re frame the window.
And the finished product. Adam, the nerd that he is, asked the guys to pose for a picture. The funny thing is the guy on the left just sold us our car 2 days earlier and before that we had never met him. We were quite surprised to see him here at the house to install our window. Small town, small world! Jen, is that a relative of yours?
So, as blessings go, this is a great one. It will make a huge difference in the winter and it looks unbelievably better. But is there ever a bad blessing? No, and God is always taking care of us. Everyday Adam and I have a new realization of God's love and care in our lives.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Just havin' fun!

Joshua just had to have this hat at a garage sale we were at. It is like 2 hats together. He absolutely loves it! And then he went to a birthday party the other day and in the goodie bag were these great glasses. I just love it! He went to church like this. Yeah I know, it might be the most nerdy thing ever. Especially with the lack of the two front teeth! Ha ha ha

A close up, 'cause I know how much you all love it!
Annabelle, up a tree as usual. My little tom boy.
But what a beauty she is!
Wonder where she gets her love of climbing trees. Once they were up, they were a little scared about coming down.
Annabelle figured she could join them. Well, we have been having a lot of fun lately and enjoying life. Also getting a lot of work done, so life is good! Have a great night and God bless you all!

Soccer... fun fun fun for the whole family!

Joel at the Tini tot's soccer. It just finished today and he had a blast! I think it is so cute to see them out there playing. I will post their last day photo's soon. These were from 1 week ago. This is an awesome little class for 3-5 year olds to learn the basics of soccer.

Annabelle, one of her forced smiles. The goof ball. She will be in Timbits soccer next year but loved Tot's soccer again this year.
Joshua at his soccer game last Saturday. He is really good. He plays great defense. I think that that is right. Anyway, he has no fear of the ball. When he gets into soccer where they use goalies (they don't at this age, it is only a hockey size net) then he wants to be one. He will be great at it!
The coaches with the team during practise. I love that Joshua is on the orange team. It is his favourite colour!
Waiting to go in again. Was a great game! Joshua even got to assist a goal! Yippee!

Realizing Love

There is one thing for sure, I am so thankful that Adam and I have fought together to keep this love we have. Some times aren't so easy but I know that angels have guarded our doors. We are more at peace now in our marriage than we have ever been and can honestly say that we are so glad we are together!

I know that it was my mom who taught me that Love is worth fighting for and I am so thankful for that. What a blessing it is to have such an example!

I first found the link to the trailer for Fireproof on Sirena's blog and I am so glad because then I found this video and it speaks so clearly to me.

Thank God for the gift of Himself in our lives and for that gift that even in good times our relationship will always fall short and we will always be brought to our knees for what truly completes us. Check this out. It is beautiful!

A day late

Well, I am a day late on my weigh in. I will have you all know that I did terribly this week on my attempt to get healthy. I did walk one long walk, home from cell from the south side to home one evening and I did Turbo Jam once (which by the way Gwen, I absolutely love and would lone to you to try if you would like. So fun!). I didn't eat well but did cut back on my coffee. So the end results I am happy about.

Wednesday night weigh in:
Weight 136 popunds
Waste 33 inches
Hips 41 inches (it seems that the only thing that grows is my rear)

So, I think I may have miss measure my hips last time because my jeans are fitting the same. Shockingly I shedded a 3 pounds which is nice and gives me a little incentive to get my "butt" in gear so to speak! haha Hope everyone has enjoyed the beautiful day, hoping to start painting my fence tomorrow. God bless!

A Challenge!

Slap!!

If you believe the world is doomed for despair and defeat at the hands of Satan through the Antichrist and that Christians escape through God's helicopter rescue called the rapture, I hereby challenge you!!!!

The moment of truth...

Okay, so I did my measurements and have decided I will weigh and measure every Tuesday night before bed. I don't want to fool myself into thinking I am making more progress by weighing in the morning. I may as well know the truth.

Waist: 33 inches (I remember the days I was a 25!)

Hips: 40 inches

Weight: 139 pounds

Okay, so I hope to take about 3 inches off my waist and hips and about 9 pounds by October 1st. Pray hard!

Hope everyone is having a great night. Mine could be better, but as they say...

The sun'll come out Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs, And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray, And lonely,
I just stick out my chin And grin, And say,
Oh The sun'll come out Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on Till tomorrow
Come what may Tomorrow!Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always A day A way!

Oh so tired!

Not sure what is up with that. I feel so tired lately and I am sleeping way too much because of it! And I am crabby... and no I can't be pregnant. So, I am going to see the doc about finding out if I may be low on iron or something. Oh well, if not I will chalk it up to busy mom syndrome and let it be.

Going to start on a bit of a weight loss time here. Not even so much a weight loss as a tummy tone and try to get trim time. So, this was all brought on by my very best friend in all the world, Heidi deciding to get married, asking me to be in the wedding, and us realizing that my dress will be 3 inches too small on the waist. So, prime opportunity to make what I have wanted to happen for a long time, finally happen. Also, I am so out of shape it is embarrassing. Pray for me if you could as this is going to be very hard for me. I am a compulsive over eater and have about a 2 second time period where I think about things before I indulge. I also am quite lazy when it comes to working out and do not like to give things up, including time. Although I say all this, I do not define myself by these terms so in this endeavour, I plan to shape up, eat right, exercise, and pray like mad! Would be great to have some support so here I am.

I shall give all the stats as I really don't care who knows what. Waist, hips and weight are what I am going to clock and I will have to weigh and measure every week to keep on track. I will do these all tomorrow night as I am too tired and lazy tonight to get my measuring tape or go upstairs to weigh myself.

The general idea is this

At 5 foot 5 and a half inches I can range from 114 pounds all the way to 152 pounds and be considered "normal" by your basic
BMI measurements.
When I got married I was about 110 pounds. But I was a teenager and active and such. Then I got pregnant and the heaviest I got to was 170 pounds. Yeah I know, it is quite a bit but everyone has to gain something. After each baby I was able to take off a good percentage of the weight. When I was preggo with Joel I got to about 160 pounds and then the lowest I got afterward was about 135 pounds. It has been 3 years now and I am hovering around 140 pounds. Not bad! I am pretty impressed after having 3 cutie patooties!

Now 133 pounds would be right in the middle of the "normal" range and that sounds nice. But I am thinking that in the end of things my goal will be 125 pounds. Although for this wedding in October I am going to go for 130 pounds. This will be harder than it sounds, what's 10 pounds, eh? But I need to tone and get some muscle too so I am not just trying to get rid of fat. Now that is the tough part for me. And I want it to last!

So, my plan... turbo jam, as it is so awesome a work out and I don't have to leave the house.
I will try to jog but we shall see, I have a screwy hip from birth so I will walk if I can't jog. And I am going to up my veggie and fruit intake and take out chips all together (I hope). This is my one vice and will be very hard to give up. Also upping my water intake and cutting out coffee almost completely. I will drink tea instead I think.

There it is for now. I will do measurements and such tomorrow.

God bless you all!

Fishing The Douglas Channel With Rod

Very beautiful day out on the Douglas Channel.

We tied up to the weather buoy at Nanakwa Shoal.
You can check out the conditons HERE

Rod Has Crabs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rod showed me how to set up crab traps while we fished elsewhere. Lots of fun but as you can see some small crabs. The spot was near a logging camp so we figure they fished out the bigger ones. We had a great day and ended up with 4 crabs.

Please God!

Does anyone know anyone who is selling a second hand vehicle at a reasonable price that would not need much work if any at all. Car with 5 seats or minivan or anything like that??? We are getting desperate as our van is in need of a new engine. Please comment ASAP if you know of anything!

Sick but very well!

So, I have a chest infection. I was wondering why this cough was hanging on for the last month! Probably a good thing I got that checked out!

And Joel went to the doc today to get this weird bite checked out. I thought that it might be a spider but the doctor says it is an insect of some kind that walks and bites while it walks. Anyway, it is kinda yucky so I will have to put some polysporine on it to keep it from getting infected.
But he is happy as always, watching his Blue's Clues.

We are planning on going to the carnival tonight. I hope it is a great time. All the kids want to do is go on the bumper cars. We will see about that. And they took in bottles so that they would have their own money to spend. I am so excited to go. It is so much fun every year. I dread the years when they will want to go alone. I don't know if I will ever be able to let them without being scared out of my mind.
This morning I went to the school and did a little presentation on being a stay at home mom. It was fun. And I made cookies for the class. What a joy to be able to do it. Hope they like the cookies. Joshua seemed so proud. That was all I really wanted.
Gotta go 'cause I have nothing else to say and I am needed for getting drinks for the kids. Have a great day all and God bless!
