Well this isn't the prettiest picture but I wanted to show that it was indeed my new lure building project which resulted in this death to an innocent dollie varden.
Daddy's little girl looking quite proud of herself and for good reason! Rock on girl!!!
And then Annabelle caught this beautiful (and much bigger) dollie on her first cast, with my new hammered spoon I might add!
This little guy came to shore shortly after. Man I had over 10 fish on this evening!! I am awaiting painting products to paint my lures but am amazed at the results with no paint. I may try this paintless venture awhile longer methinks.
Annabelle was a little concerned about the fish's teeth but we managed to get an acceptable picture of her dollie. Nice two pounder but man I forgot to measure the thing. Was at least 18'. My guess is 20". Annabelle looks the pink polka dots. I too am amazed at the beautiful markings of cut throat and dollies, especially when you go awhile without catching one.Wednesday, October 22, 2008
The impact of parenthood...
I was just thinking about what a huge blessing and a huge responsibility it is to be parents. This video brought it all home... what a huge gift a dad is in a child's life. Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the rain and the inside day.
Blooming tea
Just a quick catch up
On Sunday, Thanksgiving we went to Adam's brother's house for a wonderful turkey dinner. But as happens sometimes, we forgot the camera. Then we learned from our mistake and remembered Monday for my mom's dinner at her house, so here are the pics! Yummy!
The kids, watching a movie and having their supper, was awesome!
The kids dinners and the cornucopia
Everyone dishing up, buffet style.
The living room crowd, Adam was awesome and sat with the kids while he worked on my mom's computer.
The cornucopia, one of the kids crumpled up the leaf but the whole thing was just beautiful.

But the best part of the cornucopia is indulging in the bounty...
Was a wonderful celebration of Thankfulness to God as we celebrated with all our family. We had a great time and 2 wonderful dinners! Thanks Mark, Jen and Louise and thanks Mom!

A couple nights ago there was a special night at the E Free church and they were showing a Chadder the chipmunk movie, having songs and goodies so we took the kids. It was such a nice evening. Here is just one pic of my mom, the boys and me. We will definitely be going to the next one, probably in February.
There you have it, a couple fun times in the last couple weeks.

What a time for this. I was so encouraged!
Many of you know that there have been a few rough times as of the last year for our family. And as a quick update, Adam finally got a call for the CT scan which will be on October 21 so hopefully we can be done with that rough bit. Enjoy this song, I sure did....

— Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 —
Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work — this is a gift of God. He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.
God wants us to view what we have (whether it is much or little) with the right perspective — our possessions are a gift from God. Although they are not the source of joy, they are a reason to rejoice because every good thing comes from God. We should focus more on the giver than the gift. We can be content with what we have when we realize that with God we have everything we need.

Curious George and my Joely
Let me tell you, I think my little Joel must be the sweetest kid in all the world. He is the loviest, kissiest, hugiest guy. When he was very young he told us his name was not Joel but rather Bruno. Anyone who watches CBC Kids knows Bruno. Oh yes, he really loved that monkey. So, we would be out in public and he would not answer or come to us unless we called him Bruno. This lasted a few months and it was a little embarrassing. Just imagine calling little Bruno at the park and all the parents actually thinking that we named him that!
On an interesting note as I was talking to a friend about the meanings of our kids names and saying how we named Joel his name because it meant God is willing and Jehovah is Lord... Bruno means, Brown one. Nice!
So, soon enough Joel grew out of his need to be Bruno and went back to Joely but he never lost his love for monkeys. I had bought him this book and what a great investment it was!
He wouldn't listen to any other stories besides Curious George, but he would listen to as many of them as he could! Great for me because before that he never wanted me to be reading to him at all! Recently I noticed this one in Misty River Books and I just had to get it for him. It was only about $11 and has at least a dozen full stories!
Fabulous! Anyway, so I have grown to love Curious George and all his little adventures. The movie has to be one of the cutest movies around for kids. The older 2 kids are learning about H. A. Rey this month in school so what a great thing it is that we have plenty of his stories to share with the class. And I think he is a lot cuter than Bruno... but seriously, what is with monkey names??? George means Farmer. Well, I guess that is not too bad. And he is almost as cute as my Joel. Hope everyone is doing great... I am busy and tired but pretty well! God bless!

Off to Vancouver
I am finally getting to this! Yay!
I had the great privilege of being a part of my best friend, Heidi's wedding. We have been friends since grade 4 and she was the maid of honor at my wedding. I was so excited when she asked me to be in hers too. I didn't expect it at all as she has a huge life in Vancouver since she left Terrace and she has 4 sisters as well. I am so glad I went! Here is a little of the fun but remember I was in the wedding party so there are no pictures of the actual wedding sadly.
Here are me and Joel snuggling and saying our good byes before I get on the plane.
Some beauty from above.
I am so amazed at God's creation. Wow!
Nathan making to do lists while Heidi gets ready to start the day. I loved watching them as they are such good communicates. They never lost their tempers even in the stress of the wedding prep. They are so good together.
Getting ready for her manicure. It was so fun. My first manicure in my life, and Nathan's mom did the treating so that was such a blessing. She seems like a wonderful woman!
And there they are. Nate's mom and Heidi with just one day left till they are family. Lovely nails hey?

Wedding morning. Heidi getting her makeup started at her sisters house.
And the beauty that followed! She was beaming and such a happy bride!
Justin (Nate's brother), Nate and their dad during the family photo time.
A quick call after the ceremony. We were laughing because Heidi will never miss a call. But it was a good thing that she didn't because it was the limo driver saying he would be late, so we started eating!
Beautiful city girl now.

And a quick make up touch up before boarding the huge limo.
Quickly after getting on the limo there was a bit of a mishap with a beer bottle hitting the pole in the center. This was just a bit of the clean up of glass. We seriously could not stop laughing the whole time.
Heidi in her towel so she could eat and drink without getting her dress dirty. Cute.
And what is a limo ride without a stripper pole? ha ha, kept us laughing the whole way to the photos.

Oh, okay the blood is rushing to your head, this is definitely a different way to pole dance! ha ha
Heidi, in all her beauty!
Char and I, I guess I should say Charlotte. People were convinced we were related. What do you think? I stayed the last night at her house in Burnaby and actually navigated myself to the airport after. I can't believe I did it!
The whole gang, pretty much.
Obviously something very exciting going on outside!
