Rules for a Happy Marriage

My mom was going through stuff at her place and came across this. She was going to toss it but I thought that I would just post it first. Good thoughts!

1. Never both be angry at the same time

2. Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire

3. If one of you has to win an argument, let it be your mate

4. If you have to criticise, doit lovingly

5. Never bring up mistakes of the past

6. Neglect the whole world rather than each other

7. Never go to sleep with an argument unsettled

8. At least once a day try to say one kind or complimentary thing to your life's partner

9. When you have done something wrong, be ready to admit it and ask for forgiveness

10. It takes two to make a quarrel, and the one in the wrong is he one who does the most talking.

I really struggle with #1 and #2.
We have always had #7 as a rule. Somedays it's really difficult to practise #8 and I am finally able(after many long years) to do #9!
Thanks for sharing!
Sorry for bailing this morning...I went back to bed and now feel a wee bit better.
Have a great day!

Very cool!!

Number 7 has been a tough one for me because I am so stubborn! But more so when we first got married...I have improved alot on that one!

Hey ladies,
Yeah I strugle with almost all these, that is why I decided to post them. I can look back and remind myself of what makes a HAPPY marriage instead of a miserable one. Sometimes I get so stubborn in my thinking that I forget that joy is what we are striving for, not just being right all the time. 1,3,8, and 10 are my toughest ones. Yeah, I really need some work! God HELP!!!
