The Wild Bird

We were sitting in the living room the other night with the kids, watching a movie. All of a sudden something hit the window and Adam said it was a bird. So he headed outside to see if it was okay as the kids peered out through the window. It was so cute. They were very concerned. Adam picked up the bird after seeing it was only stunned.

Beautiful hey? And the kids checked it out and pet it.

Then it sat in Adam's hand for close to an hour before it started flying around our house and Adam had to put it outside.
It was great to see it fly away. So nice it was only stunned!
I couldn't help but think about this idea while all this was going on with the bird.

Sometimes life seems great and then I start getting overwhelmed. I just don't know how much more I can take and then BANG! It is like I hit the glass, nothing left to give and nothing left to say. And a hand comes down, a strong yet gentle hand and it picks me out of the dirt. And I sit and rest, no fear. I know I am in good hands and that nothing is going to hurt me now. And the hand stays open so when I am ready, I can fly again. And He lets me fly. And then He is always there to hold me again. What a wonderful God we serve!

Wow Charlene, I often feel the same way! You described it so beautifully. I love how God doesn't throw us back too quickly, but rather, after we have healed, allows us to fly when we're ready. He is so awesome! Reminders of His graciousness, like this one, make me fall in love with Him even more. Thanks so much for sharing what God reveals to you. His purpose in sending this little bird was definately to bless many. Praise Him!
