Adam's 2 dollys caught last weekend. The smaller of the 2 was also the fish caught in the video from Adam's posting below. It ended up being 15" when not flopping around and the bigger of the two was 20". Good eatin'!
My friend Jenny told me there is actually another family out here that is blogging, so I thought I'd stop by to say "hi". I'll be back to check out your blog some more. Take care.
I have been sending the kids to the "Kids Camp" program at Thornhill Community church. I grew up in a non Christian home; whereas, my husband was raised Christian. We've never gone to church. The last couple of years I've been reading the bible a little and questioning faith. That's where I am right now.
I have heard of a lot of kids going to that kids camp thing. Actually my neice and nephews go, too. It is so important to raise children with a respect for God, but I think that one of the best things my mom ever did for me was model true faith in God to me. I saw, in everything she relyed on God and no one else to see her through. It was a great example and I pray that my children will see the same in me. I always loved the quote, "until you find something worth dying for, you're not really living". In the good and the bad the Lord is my strength. It is great that you are searching in the bible to find the truth yourself. It sounds to me like you are in a good place. Don't stop searching and you are bound to find what you are looking for. Does you husband serve God? Does your family fish a lot? Do you do spring salmon fishing?
My husband doesn't serve God, although he does believe and has faith. When my 2nd son was born he had major problems and didn't breathe for sometime. One of the most profound moments was looking over and my husband was crying and praying for his son to be okay. His arm was paralyzed but months later it returned to normal. My mother in law thanks god everyday for Jonas' miracle. My husband is an avid fisherman. I grew up in Kitimat so I grew up camping out on the riverbank and cooking hotdogs while we fished. We now do that with the kids. Scott's bragging moment was when he caught his 58 pound Spring 2 years ago...he still shows pics. Are you guys related to Ray and Lucy? Scott drives with Ray to work and we have known them since we moved to Terrace. He bikes with Ray as well. Have a great day!
Wow, that is a great story of healing. Great that your husband has faith in God, that is really all you need if it is true faith. Well, Adam always says to people who are just starting to read the bible that the best place to start is in the New testiment and specifically the book of John. A lot of mom's I think end up in the old testiment because a lot of the great children's bible stories are there (David and Goliath, Adam and Eve, Samson, etc.)But a lot of the old testiment is very dry reading. It has great stuff in it but it is probably easier to start in the new. We camped at the red bridge last year. It was so fun with the kids and my sister and brother in law and their boys. I love living in this area! What a great place for kids to grow up! Yes we are related to Ray and Lucy, well, more specifically Ray and Adam are cousins. We don't get together very often with them which is really sad as Joshua really loves Luke, their son. But I think about them often. We read that they are opening a bike shop. That is really great for them. So your hubby works at Alcan?
Oh yeah I found it hard to get through the Old Testament. I stopped and started with the new testament. We got some Usborne books this Christmas and we got to read the kids the story of Christmas. The illustrations were beautiful. My oldest son started to cry with one part of the story and then we all did. It was touching!!!
I actually saw Ray last night while renting movies at video stop. He seems very well and was saying that the bike shop is open. That is really great for them. I almost mentioned that I had been blog-chatting with you as he brought up how flexible his car pool is and how he really likes driving with the guys he is with. But then it was my turn to the till so I didn't get the chance. I love when the kids get emotional about stories of Jesus. Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for to such belongeth the kingdom of heaven. Children have faith so much easier than adults and nothing needs to be proven. I love that and the bible teaches that we all need to have faith like a child.

I think their bike shop is open. Yes, Scott works at Alcan. It's a good job. I get to be a stay at home mom, the best and hardest job around!!
