Here is the last picture taken of my dog Geroge, out fishing with Adam at the Copper River January 2nd. After their day of fishing Adam called and called and there was no sign of George. Adam went and looked everyday, hoping to find him alive and well but finally on Friday January 6th he went out and found George near the Copper river bridge and he had been hit by a car. Adam took the day off work and helped my Uncle Lloyd burry him at my grandpa's shop.Dog's are nothing like human's but they sure do make a big impact in a life. I am so thankful that God gave me George as a friend during the hardest and lonliest time in my life. I have many great memories with him. Taking him to the park and running through the sprinklers and him always being scared of the water, wrestling with him, taking him for drives in my truck and the time he jumped out before I had stopped, sleeping in bed with me for years and him alerting me when people were breaking into my parents little truck, when he ran and made babies with a purebred domation dog, the whining, when my parents had to get rid of him and no matter how far away he was, he just always ran home until the people gave him back. More recently, him whining with excitement the whole way to the river, the kids calling, "come here George" ever 5 seconds to make sure he stayed close, the night we were stranded in the middle of nowhere and had to sleeping the van and looking at him keeping watch for us outside the van, and the stench in the van after he rolled in rotten fish guts. He has been a wonderful companion for Adam's fishing trips and has really made less concern for me about bears.
I got George when he was 1 year and I was 14 years old and he had good years and not so good years but I thank my Grandpa, Uncle Lloyd and Adam for filling his last year with happiness.
